Essential Services Continue at Tompkins County Recycling and Materials Management The Tompkins County Recycling and Materials Management Department will continue to operate essential services in the coming weeks as public health officials work to address the COVID-19 outbreak. The Recycling and Materials Management office, weigh station, and Recycling and Solid Waste Center will remain open. Users of the facility may continue todrop off trash and recycling, purchase and renew solid waste permits, pay for disposal, and complete most other routine use. Curbside recycling will continue as scheduled. Additionally, Food Scraps Recycling Drop Spots will continue to operate throughout the County. Residents may continue to drop off their material as normal. We ask that all users of the facility follow the steps outlined by the CDC to protect themselves and others and prevent spreading the virus. Clean your hands often, avoid touching yourface, and avoid close contact. Take steps to protect others by staying home if you are sick, covering coughs and sneezes,and avoiding close contact.
