NOTICE OF ADOPTION

OF RESOLUTION SUBJECT

TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at a regular meeting held on Thursday, the 11th day of February, 2016, the Newfield Town Board duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant the Town Law of the State of New York (the “Town Law”).

Abstract of Resolution

“Pursuant to Town Law 60-a(2) and in the fiscal interest of the Town, the Town hereby resolves to reduce the number of town justices from two to one and hereby resolves to abolish the office of town justice now vacant and formerly held by Town Justice Becker.”

A copy of the entire resolution is available for review in the office of the Town Clerk.

Any Town residents wishing to have this matter put to a referendum must submit a proper petition to the Town Board within thirty (30) days of date.
