Sapphire Farms is a large business with home offices in Bangor, MI. They are in the business of growing and cultivating cannabis crops and developing quality products from their crops. The owners of Sapphire Farms operation in Newfield have applied for expanding their operation on 620 Shaffer Road to include a large barn-like structure for use in holding their harvest and, in time, processing the plants harvested into end user products such as vape cartridges. The Town of Newfield Planning Board is performing a site plan review of their plans and welcomes public comment.
In an effort to educate the community on the project, we are sharing several documents below from the site plan review submission.
- Community Impact Statement – Document describing the project overview, physical, environmental, social and economic impacts and health, safety and general welfare.
- Site Plan – a map detailing the location of the structure on the property at 620 Shaffer Road.
- Storm-water Grading & Drainage Plan – detailed drawings showing the storm water management plan.
- Disclosure – stating the use of hazardous materials in the processing of Cannabis and any odors, smoke, noise, dust or other airborne particles.
- Lighting Plan – drawings showing the indoor and outdoor lighting plan for the facility.
