TOWN OF NEWFIELD COVID -19 RESPONSE
TOWN COURT CLOSED – New York State Unified Court System has CLOSED and SUSPENDED ALL Town Court activities. If you had a scheduled appearance, it will be rescheduled at least 45 days out; If you have a ticket; it will be scheduled at least 45 days out; NO MONEY/CHECKS will be collected or processed. YOU WILL NOT BE PENALIZED at any time during this period. You will receive notice from the Court when your rescheduled appearance/court date is.
TOWN HALL/HIGHWAY/WATER & SEWER DEPARTMENTS – The Town will be closing all Departments as of the end of day Wednesday, March 18th. Essential and/or limited services may be available. See information below for detailed instructions by Department and relevant contact information. We are asking all residents and contractors to do whatever possible via email, phone and USPS mail to limit exposure for all of us as we strive to continue to serve our residents to the best of our ability in these circumstances.

All public Town Board and Planning Board meetings will be held through Zoom videoconferencing. Please check our website for log-in information for viewing the meetings which will be posted when each agenda is set.
For Public Hearings, comments can be sent to townclerk@newfieldny.org and read into the record for the Board to consider prior to or during the meeting(s). Instructions will be available at the start of each meeting.

The Town Hall is closed to the public and all residents are encouraged to call, email, or use the USPS to conduct business. For business that must be conducted in person, such as a marriage license, the Town Clerk will be available by appointment only. We will still accept deliveries by USPS, and other private delivery services. However, they will need to make arrangement with the Town Clerk to accept deliveries.

As we face these uncertain times with COVID-19 virus, the Town Codes Department is taking precautions to ensure the safety of residents, contractors, and Code Enforcement department staff. We highly encourage individuals to send any plans, building permit applications, variance applications, or operating permit applications to our office in a digital format. If you are seeking to submit applications or plans in a digital format, you can send them to codeofficer@newfieldny.org.
